Privacy Policy — Gajju
Last Updated: March 2, 2026
Effective Date: March 2, 2026
1) Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Gajju (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Gajju mobile app.
Gajju is designed as a local-first app. Most personal content remains on your device unless you choose to use features that rely on third-party services.
A) Data stored on your device
The app stores most data locally on your phone/tablet, including:
- Profile name and mascot name
- Journal/reflection entries
- Reading progress, streaks, and quest state
- App settings and preferences
- Optional profile photo reference
- Prayer Lock preferences/status (for supported iOS devices)
We do not currently operate our own backend database for this local app content.
B) Data sent to third parties when you use specific features
- AI Chat (xAI Grok API):
- If you use Gita chat, your prompt and recent conversation context are sent to xAI’s Grok API to generate a response.
- Subscriptions (RevenueCat + Apple App Store / Google Play):
- Subscription events, entitlement status, and management metadata are processed to enable purchases and restore flows.
- Payment card data is processed by Apple/Google, not by us.
- Notifications (optional):
- If you enable notifications, push-related identifiers/tokens may be processed by Apple Push Notification service (APNs), Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), and Expo notification infrastructure to deliver reminders.
- Support requests:
- If you contact support, we process the information you provide (for example, email content and related troubleshooting details).
We process information to:
- Provide and operate app features you use
- Deliver optional reminders/notifications you request
- Process and restore subscription entitlements
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain app reliability and prevent abuse
4) Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide requested app features/subscriptions
- Consent: for optional permissions (for example, notifications, photo access)
- Legitimate interests: app security, abuse prevention, and service improvement
- Legal obligations: where required by law
5) Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data and do not use in-app advertising trackers for targeted ads.
We share data only with service providers needed to run features you choose:
6) International Data Transfers
Third-party providers may process data in countries outside your own. These providers are responsible for implementing appropriate transfer safeguards under their own legal frameworks.
7) Data Retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in-app or uninstall the app.
- Subscription and transaction records are retained by RevenueCat/Apple/Google under their own retention policies.
- Support communications are retained only as long as needed to resolve requests, comply with law, and maintain records.
8) Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Clear local app data in app:
Settings -> Account -> Clear on-device data
- Uninstall the app to remove local stored data
- Disable permissions (notifications/photo access) in device settings
- Manage/cancel subscriptions in Apple or Google account settings
Depending on your region, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability.

9) Children’s Privacy
Gajju is not intended for children under 13 (or higher minimum age required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
11) Policy Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date shows the latest revision.
